Bird Strike Committee USA/Canada meetings have grown in popularity over the past decade.  Because of the growth in attendance and increased emphasis on training and interaction with other organizations in the aviation industry, BSC-USA partnered with the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) for the 2006 meeting in St. Louis (390 attendees).

AAAE and BSC-USA will partner again in 2008 for the 10th Bird Strike Committee-USA/Canada meeting on 18-21 August.  As noted above, details regarding hotel, registration, exhibitors, field trips, and “early-bird training” are available at AAAE.

BSC-USA is now soliciting papers and posters for the technical sessions at the Orlando meeting.  Presentations are particularly encouraged related to 1) managing surface water at airports to minimize bird attraction, and 2) managing birds of prey at airports (eagles, vultures, osprey, red-tailed hawks etc).  Deadline for submission of abstracts is 30 April 2008.  Click here for details.

We anticipate that this partnership between AAAE and BSC-USA will continue to enhance the quality of meetings in the future and further the integration of BSC-USA and wildlife hazard management into the mainstream of the aviation industry.
