Bird Strike Committee USA/Canada meetings have grown
in popularity over the past decade.
There was a record 450 people in attendance at the 2008 meeting hosted
by Orlando-Sanford International Airport in Florida. Because of the growth in attendance and
increased emphasis on training and interaction with other organizations in the
aviation industry, BSC-USA signed
a Memorandum of Understanding with the American Association of Airport Executives
(AAAE) in 2006 to collaborate with meetings held in the USA. AAAE
handles registration and meeting logistics, and BSC-USA handles
the technical program and training sessions.
This partnership has enhanced the quality of meetings and advanced the
integration of BSC-USA and wildlife risk mitigation into
the mainstream of the aviation industry.
We are pleased to announce that the 2010 USA/Canada
meeting, hosted by Salt Lake City International Airport on 21–24
June, was an outstanding success with over 200 attendees.
